Just ask Kitty!

Just ask Kitty!

Hi everyone, Kitty here!

We all know how stressful and overwhelming it can be to find the perfect fitting dress. As the Design Director at TH&TH, I’m often asked for advice on sizing—especially from brides juggling the task of dressing their entire bridal party!

How do I do my measurement's at home?

How far off the floor should a bridesmaid dress be?

Is it better to size up or down for bridesmaid dresses?

No need to worry, Kitty is here to help! If you have any questions (and no question is too big or small), feel free to email me at enquiries@thandth.com. I'll be more than happy to assist you in finding the right fit.

And to make things easier for you and your bridesmaids, I’ve put together a simple, step-by-step guide on how to take accurate measurements:

Step-by-Step Guide to Measuring Bust, Waist, and Hips

What you’ll need:

  • Flexible tape measure
  • Full-body mirror
  • Form-fitting clothes (for accurate measurements)
  • A friend to help (optional but helpful!)

Bust:
1. Wrap the tape measure around your back, bringing it to the front.
2. Measure around the fullest part of your bust (the apex), ensuring the tape is level and parallel to the floor.
3. The tape should be snug but not too tight. If possible, have a friend help you record the measurement.

Waist:
1. Your natural waist is located just below your rib cage, near your belly button—not where your underwear sits!
2. Wrap the tape measure around the smallest part of your torso.
3. Make sure the tape is even across your waist, front and back, and parallel to the floor.

Hips:
1. Your hips are measured around the widest part of your hip area—not at the top of your hip bone.
2. Wrap the tape around the fullest point, ensuring it’s level and parallel to the floor.

Feel free to share this guide with your bridesmaids to make sure everyone gets their perfect fit!
